PhD ARCHITECT




Architect. Researcher. Holds a PhD in Architecture from FAUL-Lisbon, and has a specialization in Large-format Film Photography from ICP-New York. Spent his foundational years working in award-winning offices in New York City and Barcelona. Since 2017 leads an independent pluridisciplinary practice of architecture, edition and research. Has designed buildings in multiple geographies; has authored essays on architecture, folk and visual culture.

Feb. 2025:
Pedro's research for UMAR's visual archive was awarded with an Individual Mobility Grant from 'Culture Moves Europe', a program funded by the European Union with the support of the Goethe Institute.


Jan. 2025:
In a joint-venture with UMAR-Union of Mediterranean Architects, Pedro is coordinating the research for a new project titled 'New Folk Construction: A Visual Archive of Anonymous Photography on Anonymous Architecture'.
